Endoscopic Nasal & Sinus Surgery/Balloon Sinuplasty
3-Dimensional Stereotactic CT Scan Guided Sinus Surgery | Balloon Sinuplasty
Sinus surgery has changed dramatically with the modern sophisticated equipment available today.
Minimally invasive office-based balloon sinus surgery can now be performed without the need for an anesthetic.
Surgical therapy in the operating room can now also be performed under 3-dimensional stereotactic guidance with tiny telescopes and balloons to dilate the blocked sinuses.
These techniques are combined with rotating suction instruments that can remove nasal polyps without disruption of the normal lining.
Powered sinus washing cannulas are used to evacuate the infection and wash the sinus cavities with a topical antibiotic.
Our unique minimally invasive techniques greatly minimize the risk and discomfort often found in traditional surgery sinus surgery. Using these techniques we can perform sinus surgery even in patients with the most severe cases without the need for any nasal packing. Our patients have no bruising or change to their nasal appearance and can usually be back to work in 1-2 days.
3-Dimensional Stereotactic CT Scan Guided Sinus Surgery
This technique uses sophisticated 3-dimensional reconstruction of the patient's CT scan to serve as a real time guide during the sinus surgery. This highly sophisticated technique results in more accurate and complete sinus surgery with less risk of complications. Our office has all of the sophisticated equipment to perform this 3-D computer guided image reconstruction. Our specialty surgical center has the InstaTrak guidance system to utilize these 3-D images. We can literally navigate real time during the sinus surgery to limit our work to the target areas with pinpoint accuracy.
